Hope Lane North

The existing Edwardian terraced house had suffered from previous alterations which left inefficient circulation space and dark rooms to the rear with little connection to the rear courtyard garden. We have improved the efficiency of the circulation by altering the stair arrangement, making a more generous and spacious ground floor. The large open-plan living room, dining and kitchen was created, while retaining an existing study to the rear. A new sliding door opening connects to the back courtyard, forming an improved outdoor space for eating, relaxing and bringing afternoon to evening sun in the dining and kitchen spaces. This outside courtyard garden really proves its value as a room in itself when compared to the external space which previously felt limp and unfriendly.
